25 Years of Outsourced Events: A year of award wins
Our 25th anniversary year has brought some of the most meaningful recognition in our history: four major industry award wins, celebrating our agency, our culture and our leadership.
Our 2026 award wins so far
UK Agency Awards 2026 – WINNER, Best Large Agency of the Year
In October, we were named Best Large Agency of the Year at the UK Agency Awards 2026. Now in their 12th year, the UK Agency Awards celebrate the best agencies across the country and the work they deliver for their clients.
Best Large Agency of the Year looks beyond a single event or campaign to the business behind it. That makes it one of the most meaningful wins we could ask for. It reflects 25 years of building an agency that clients trust, not just one standout project. Read more about the win.
Conference & Events Awards 2026 – WINNER, Best Event Agency
Being named Best Event Agency at the Conference & Events Awards 2026 is recognition from the UK’s longest-standing and most prestigious event industry awards. Landing it in our 25th year makes it all the more special.
This award speaks directly to the work our clients see every day: the planning, the problem-solving and the delivery on the ground. From intimate roundtables to major international tradeshows and conferences, we now deliver more than 240 events a year for technology brands and associations worldwide. This win is a credit to every event manager, coordinator and project lead who represents OE at them. Read more about the win.
CN Agency Awards 2026 – WINNER, Employer of the Year
In March, we were named Employer of the Year at the CN Agency Awards 2026, held at The Brewery in London. Now in their eighth year, the CN Agency Awards recognise excellence across the UK’s full-service event agency community.
This is the award that celebrates the culture we’ve built for our own team. That culture shows up in tailored training for every manager through our Head of Learning and Development, monthly in-person meet-ups and a social calendar, from the summer BBQ to the Christmas party, that keeps everyone connected. It’s also why so many of our team relationships go back a decade or more, including people who have returned to OE after time away. Read more.
UK Company Culture Awards 2026 – WINNER, Leadership Award
In May, our CEO and Co-Founder Denise Sharpe won the Leadership Award at the UK Company Culture Awards 2026. The awards celebrate organisations that see their staff as people and care for their career development, mental health and wellbeing.
Denise’s win recognises the people-first approach she has brought to leading OE since co-founding the business with Alexandra Sibley in 2001. It’s an approach built on our five core values: we put people first, we’re partners, we care, we challenge and we’re curious. For Denise, getting the people part right has always been what makes everything else follow. Read more.
How it all ties back to our mission and values
Our mission is to create outstanding events for global technology brands and associations. Behind it sits a bigger vision: bringing people together to create a better world, one where individuals, organisations, communities and the planet can all thrive. Each of this year’s wins reflects that mission and the five core values that carry it day to day.
We put people first. Employer of the Year and Denise’s Leadership Award both recognise what happens inside the business: how we train, support and look after our team. People who feel valued do their best work and our clients feel the difference.
We’re partners. Best Large Agency of the Year looks at the business behind the work and ours is built on long-term relationships. Many of our clients have been with us for a decade or more, some since our earliest years, because we work as an extension of their team rather than a supplier.
We care. Care shows up in the details that make an event work for everyone in the room and in how we treat each other along the way. It’s the thread running through both our culture awards and our event awards.
We challenge. Best Event Agency recognises delivery and great delivery means questioning the brief, pushing for better and never settling for how it’s always been done.
We’re curious. Curiosity keeps us learning and looking ahead. To mark our 25th year, we launched The Confidence Code, new research exploring the pressures and priorities shaping tech marketing leaders in 2026 and beyond.
Four wins, five values and one belief that hasn’t changed since that small Chiswick office in 2001: put people first and everything else follows.

Why exhibitors have 3.5 seconds to earn a second look
Most brands treat signage as a finishing touch, something to sort out once the stand design, the demos and the giveaways are locked in. The evidence suggests that's the wrong way round. Signage is doing most of the work in the first 3.5 seconds. It's the first thing read from a distance, before a single conversation happens, which makes it one of the highest-leverage decisions in the entire stand design, not an afterthought. Find out more.
