Emma Jackson, Digital Platforms Manager
What is your job title?
Digital Platform Manager.
How long have you worked at Outsourced Events?
Since November 15th 2022.
What is one thing you cannot live without?
My family and my dogs, although they would probably say my phone!
Where is the best place you have travelled to and why?
Walt Disney World in Orlando, we’re all huge Disney geeks and as a family we have made so many magical memories here that it now holds a very special place in our hearts.
If you could learn to do anything what would it be?
I would love to be a pilot and learn to fly. I got the opportunity to experience flying when I was in the University Air Squadron. Doing barrel rolls in a two-seater Bulldog was an incredible experience.
When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you pass the time?
I love spending time with my two golden retrievers Tadashi and Mickey, a peaceful walk in the countryside or just big fluffy cuddles.
What is your favourite thing about working at Outsourced Events?
I love being part of such a motivating and inspiring team and of course getting to travel for events is a definite perk!
If you could invite four people to dinner (living or dead) who would you invite and why?
I am a family historian and I have traced my family tree back over several generations. I would love to be able to sit down with some of my past ancestors and find out more about their lives. There is one particular family mystery regarding surname use that I would love to be able to clear up!
What was your childhood ambition?
I wanted to be a cowgirl and own a ranch full of horses in Texas. I never quite managed a ranch-ful but I have owned horses throughout my life.
What is your most memorable day at Outsourced Events?
Finding out that I was being sent to Orlando to manage my first event and then actually doing it! Arriving on site for that first day was so exciting.
If you could do any job, regardless of skills and training, what would it be?
I would love to work in Formula 1 and travel around the world with the Grand Prix in some way.
What are the top three items on your bucket list?
  • Drive the Grand Tour of Switzerland
  • Visit all the Disney castles
  • Own a sports car
What would people never guess you do in your role?
People would be surprised at how varied the role is. One day I could be sourcing a branded dartboard for a team build, and the next managing an online webinar.
If you could witness any historical event, what would you want to see?
I think being able to see peoples' reactions to technological advancements would be amazing. I’d love to experience some of those firsts, for instance the first time people heard recorded sound or spoke on a telephone or saw a man walk on the moon. It would just be so exciting to witness a ground-breaking development first-hand.

25 Years of Outsourced Events: A year of recognition and reflection

In 2001, Denise Sharpe and Alexandra Sibley set up Outsourced Events in a small office in Chiswick, West London, with a simple idea: build an events agency that could work so closely with its clients that it felt less like a supplier and more like an extension of their own team. Twenty-five years on, that idea has grown into a business trusted by some of the world's biggest technology brands and professional associations, but the thinking behind it hasn't changed.
