Job Vacancy: Account Manager - Events
We are looking for a Account Manager to join our busy Events team to plan and deliver a varied range of events across our technology and association clients.

The Company
Founded in 2001 and based in Hammersmith, Outsourced Events Ltd is a multi-award winning end-to-end event management provider. Specialising in the IT and professional services industries, as well as the Association and not-for-profit sectors, the team works globally for more than 50 clients, managing over 250 events annually. Our projects focus on conferences, exhibitions and roadshows targeting decision makers within large organisations or membership bodies. Our goal is to integrate so seamlessly with our clients’ business needs and processes that we become an extension of their team.
The Team
You will play a significant role in an expanding organisation, joining a growing team of 41, all of whom bring extensive experience and knowledge in event management. The team takes great pride in delivering the highest quality service to clients, and these relationships are key to the ongoing growth of Outsourced Events. There is a strong atmosphere of collaboration, respect, trust, and integrity among the team members.
The Role
Key responsibilities
You will primarily focus on one of our major client accounts, becoming the main point of contact and working with key stakeholders to integrate seamlessly with their team. This role is supported by a small internal team within Outsourced Events to action the deliverables. The requests you manage will be varied, ranging from organising small shipments to managing their presence at a tradeshow or overseeing logistics for a conference. There will also be opportunities for you to take on a line management role, supervising Event Executives as part of your role once you're embedded within the Outsourced Events team.
In addition, you will act as a key Event Project Manager for the client's flagship event series across EMEA. Time allocation will vary depending on demand, but you should expect approximately 40% of your time to focus on account management and 60% on event project management.
• Account Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Oversee the project team to ensure that deliverables are completed on time and to the required standards.
• Manage the client according to the service level agreement (SLA) outlined in the Statement of Work (SoW).
• Ensure all event and project budgets are tracked, updated, and reconciled in real time.
• Capture all revenue by ensuring SoWs and quotations are raised accurately and promptly.
• Lead the team in various tasks such as venue finding, booking private dining, sourcing merchandise, managing shipping, and overseeing supplier management.
• Identify opportunities for growth and collaborate with the Account Director to convert these into actionable plans
Event Management
• Lead projects by planning, managing, and delivering events from start to finish to the highest standard, meeting client objectives of quality and cost-effectiveness as per the agreement and the resourcing levels in the SoW
• Communicate deadlines effectively with clients, ensuring timely delivery of information
• Produce detailed project plans with a clear understanding of priorities
• Travel globally to manage onsite event elements, leading the onsite team to ensure a superior experience for all attendees
• Provide leadership, motivation, direction, and support to direct reports and the wider project team (Event Executives and Senior Event Executives)
• Collaborate with the Finance Team on budget management and associated reporting, ensuring accurate financial records
• Manage external stakeholders, including venues and suppliers
• Oversee post-event reporting and delivery
Key qualities required
• Ideally you will have 5+ years' experience managing corporate events and tradeshows in an agency or venue environment. Knowledge of the technology sector would be beneficial but is not essential
• Experience in building and nurturing client relationships
• Strong understanding of the project lifecycle, from budgeting to production and delivery
• Excellent attention to detail, taking pride in the quality of work being produced and demonstrating a collaborative approach to achieving goals
• Ability to work under pressure and meet client demands, even with tight deadlines
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent planning, organisational and negotiation skills
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while managing expectations both internally and externally
• Strong proficiency of Microsoft suite
• Experience with line management or the potential to grow into an effective line manager with appropriate learning & development

Rate
£40-45k per annum, including London weighting plus commission, dependent upon experience
